Recording out of my open bedroom window the first afternoon in september 2020. You can hear some faint traffic noice, a distant river and waterfall, and the crickets playing in the raspberry. Recorded at 32bit 48khz float with a zoom h6 recorder, and a røde nt4 stereo microphone, mounted in a rycote windshield ae blimp.

Recordings of grasshopper in the puyehue national park in chile. I placed the recorder with a small tripod in the grass. A distant river is heard. Wind in the trees is also present. Some distant and very seldom cars can be heard. Recorded with internal mics of a sony pcm d100.

An up-close recording of a single cricket chirping. I recorded this with a shure beta 57a microphone, at my house, with the mic a few inches away from one of my housemate's crickets (don't ask). I used cubase and izotope denoise to remove noise artifacts, as well as a low-cut to remove unwanted low freqs. Recorded in mono but exported in stereo, so both the left and right audio channels are the same.

Insects (i think mostly crickets) make this noise. It sounds so. . . Infernal!, or futuristic (electronic for sure). I recorded this (with my old zoom ii recorder) one summer night in tlacotlapan, at the southern mexican state of veracruz. All this happened for hours inside my hotel room. So you can imagine what kind of night i have. Wonderful memories.

Very strong sounding grasshopper. When i rode home from work at 11 a. M. I heard a strong sounding grasshopper in a neighbor's busch i run into my house and picked up my recorder and mic and run out tried coming closest possible for good sound, but it was a little too close because the hopper become silent. Was mucking around in audacity and made a cricket chirp. I used the generate chirp option and distorted it. It would fit well in a night-time or summer scene.

A particular insect, maybe a grasshopper doing this sound which i use as background atoms instead of the typical cricket. Recorded stereo on zoom h4 on board mics, i edited it to remove some of the hiss.
