This is the first release in the new OpenForge 2.0 line of tiles. I've adjusted tons of small details in how I do OpenForge to make an awesome set I'mreally proud of. I've changed the sets in the following ways: -- Tiles now optionally have a replaceable base. The default base lets tiles connect using standard 5mm neodymium magnets, making tile setup faster, as well as providing holes where you can attach tiles permanently or semi-permanently using "filament rivets." I'll include the default base for each tile with its release. Anyone can design a new base for OpenForge tiles. As long as it fits in the area of 6 mm tall, and 25 mm x 25 mm per space, any base will work. If you don't want to use an attachable base, full tiles with bases attached are also uploaded with the name *.full_base.stl If you don't want to expend filament for thick bases, OpenForge can now be used without a base at all. If you do use a base, the bases now use substantially less material. The wall texture no longer has an awkward break as it approaches the base. The wall now goes all the way down to where you can attach the base. As I create tiles, I'm creating bases that extend the texture to the bottom. What I previously called "edge" tiles have been reworked. As the standard OpenForge tiles have always been compatible with Dwarven Forge and a variety of other tiles, "external" tiles are now compatible with Hirst Arts. Further, they are now easier to deal with, as the walls are half a tile width, so building scenes with them doesn't leave odd gaps. Because of these changes, OpenForge can now do multi-story buildings, as well as permanent buildings, such as the inn that your players treat as a home base. For instructions on how to get started with OpenForge, take a look at our tutorials. OpenForge is now a patron supported project. I use the resources that my patrons give me in order to get the resources to let me create more sophisticated tiles with a greater level of detail. Please, support me, and I’ll deliver an ongoing stream of awesome gaming terrain.
